Woman Shoots Home Intruder Who Was Fighting Husband During Break-In

On Saturday, a woman in Patterson, California shot and killed a drunk intruder who broke into her home and proceeded to fight her husband who was attempting to keep the man out of their home.

The shooting occurred around 10:20 PM according to the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office: “Detectives with the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office are currently investigating a late overnight shooting in which a Patterson homeowner fired a revolver in self-defense of her husband who was fighting to keep an intoxicated intruder out of their residence.”

“Patterson Police Services patrol deputies were dispatched to the 500 block of Ashwood Lane on the report of shots fired,” the sheriff’s office said. “The reporting party called to say they had received a phone call from one of their female, Mandarin-speaking neighbors to say she had just shot and killed an intruder.”

Upon the police’s arrival, they found 22-year-old Angela Santana dead near the entrance of the home, according to KCRA.

“Through the review of external and internal video surveillance footage, and upon taking statements from those who were on-scene and witness to the altercation,” the police explained, adding, “it appears 22-year-old Patterson resident Angelo Santana became heavily intoxicated and tried to force entry into the home.”

“The house belonged to 50-year-old Yuhui Zheng and her husband, 45-year-old Yang Luan,” the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office continued. “The husband attempted to physically restrain Santana and was involved in a significant fight near the threshold of the front door.”

Mr. Zheng sustained minimal injuries during the altercation. During the encounter, his wife retrieved a revolver from their bedroom and proceeded to fire all of the weapon’s rounds into the intruder. Mrs. Luan purchased the revolver just a day prior to having to use it in self-defense of her home and husband, per Breitbart.

“Interviews with those familiar with Santana indicate he had a history of alcohol substance abuse,” the police explained, adding, “wherein he would regularly show up unannounced trying to find friends and acquaintances of his in the same neighborhood.”

Luckily, Mrs. Luan was able to use her second amendment right to defend her home. Once again the right to bear arms has protected a family victimized by crime.
