The Fox News Channel has ended 2022 on top, in a dominant position over all other competitors in the cable network news space. According to a report released by the network Friday, they will end the year with the largest viewing audience for the seventh year in a row.

“The Five,” led Fox’s celebratory coverage noted for making history as “the first non-primetime program to ever lead cable news viewership for an entire year,” Laura Ingraham’s Ingraham Angle carried the conservative host to finish as the highest-rated female host.

“From America’s choice on election night to the home of late night’s smash hit show, 2022 was a testament to our unmatched skill in delivering the most innovative news and opinion programming to our audience which continues to rank as the most politically diverse in cable news. I am beyond proud of our entire team’s incredible achievements this year,” FOX News Media CEO Suzanne Scott said in a statement to Fox News.

According to Forbes, in the key demographic (ages 25-54) Fox News finished the year with 346,000 viewers, a decrease of 7% leading CNN by an extreme margin with the leftist-biased network garnering only 174,000 viewers followed distantly by MSNBC’s 133,000. Overall Fox blew out the board with 2.33 million viewers, head and shoulders beyond MSNBC with 1.208 million viewers and CNN with a paltry 730,000 viewers.

Some of the other key movers were:

  • Tucker Carlson Tonight– Finishing the year in first, with a 523,000 viewer average according to full-year ratings data from Nielsen.
  • Gutfeld!- In spite of finishing in second place behind CBS’ The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Greg Gutfeld’s hit show brought Fox News 2.045 million viewers with 345,000 of them in the key demo.
  • Hannity- Sean Hannity’s headline show averaged 2.8 million viewers.
  • Special Report with Bret Baier-  Averaged 2.5 million viewers.

According to Fox, “‘The Faulkner Focus,’ ‘Your World with Neil Cavuto,’ ‘America Reports with John Roberts and Sandra Smith’ and ‘The Story with Martha MacCallum’ all outdrew everything else MSNBC and CNN had to offer as Fox News aired 13 of the top 15 cable news programs of 2022. ”

The two mainstream, left-leaning networks were down 36% and 39% year-over-year respectively. This makes Fox News’ seventh consecutive victory over the cable-network television battlefield concurrent with CNN and MSNBC both having their lowest-rated years in history.
