The internet blew up over the issue of gas vs. electric stoves this week after the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commissioner explained that a possible ban on gas stoves could be brought to the table due to the ‘hazards’ it causes.

U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commissioner Richard Trumpka Jr. says, “This is a hidden hazard. Any option is on the table. Products that can’t be made safe can be banned,” according to Bloomberg News.

Many are concerned that the Biden administration will try to ban gas stoves or force new regulations on the industry.

Congressman Ronny Jackson (R-TX) stated, “I’ll NEVER give up my gas stove. If the maniacs in the White House come for my stove, they can pry it from my cold dead hands,” ending the tweet with the famous phrase, “COME AND TAKE IT!!”

Cortez responded to the bold congressman’s statement by saying, “Did you know that ongoing exposure to NO2 from gas stoves is linked to reduced cognitive performance” and linked a Vox article to the tweet.

Jackson fired back at Cortez, exposing the unfortunate fact that AOC herself uses a gas stove. “[Alexandria Ocascio-Cortez] says gas stoves cause ‘reduced cognitive performance’ – yet she uses a gas stove? Is this a self-diagnosis? AOC, as a medical doctor, I can tell you this: what’s wrong with your head IS NOT caused by stoves. Something WAY BIGGER is causing your decreased cognitive function!”

Congressman Jackson later started an online petition called “Save the Stoves” to raise awareness for the issue. “We can’t let the maniacs in the White House get away with this,” the website reads.

Many others followed suit, expressing their unwavering support for gas stoves on social media. Christian actor Kevin Sorbo said, “Gas stoves are bad because they can’t be turned off remotely.”

Congressman Jim Jordan kept it simple, “God, Guns and Gas stoves.”

“Joe Biden’s inflation caused 1/3 of Americans to skip meals or cut portion sizes. Yet Democrats are more worried about banning gas stoves,” Kimberly Guilfoyle commented.

Country singer and devout conservative John Rich tweeted, “If gas stoves were made by Pfizer, we’d all be mandated to own one,” following the controversy.

The U.S. Commissioner of Product Safety clarified via Twitter that any regulation put in place would only apply to new appliances, not to ones already in American homes. This, however, has not seemed to quell the outrage of those on the right side of the aisle.
