NBA Legend Charles Barkley Might Take CNN Job To Help ‘Sh*t Show’ News Network

Former National Basketball Association (NBA) great and current sports broadcaster Charles Barkley announced Thursday he might take a job hosting a CNN show, blasting the company as a ‘sh*t show’ as he did so.

“They are trying to pair Gayle King and me. We don’t have anything set in stone. I’m only considering it because of my respect for Gayle,” Barkley told the New York Post. “It would be an honor and a privilege to work with Gayle.”

Charles Barkley’s relationship with Gayle King developed through Oprah Winfrey, according to the Post.  But at the same time, he shot down the prospects of a daily show, asserting that it is “never going to happen.”

Ultimately, his loyalty to Warner Brothers Discovery — which owns TNT, where he broadcasts his “Inside the NBA” show, as well as CNN — is a large reason he is considering taking the gig.

“I just want to help the company because obviously, it is a s–t show right now, Anything I can do to help,” Barkley added.

Barkley has been known for his bold takes, which often clash with the establishment wings of both sides of the aisle. He has defended the police on several occasions, and that obviously puts him at odds with the radical left, who despise the police and the role of law enforcement in our communities. He also criticized the field of Democrat Candidates in 2016 for failing to “inspire him.” He, nonetheless, blamed both Republican and Democrat politicians for helping to create the political divide we see today:

“I really believe that in my heart, but I think our system is set up where our politicians, whether they’re Republicans or Democrats, are designed to make us not like each other so they can keep their grasp of money and power. They divide and conquer,” Barkley said in 2021.

Charles Barkley had a storied NBA career, playing 16 seasons in the league. He was the 1993 NBA Most Valuable Player and was selected to the NBA All-Star Team 11 times. He was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in the class of 2006.
