BREAKING: Governor Youngkin SLAMS DA Bragg Over Trump Indictment

Following the announcement of an indictment of former President and 2024 Republican frontrunner Donald Trump by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, many key Republicans have released statements in support of the former President.

One such figure is Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin, who took to Twitter to condemn this action by DA Bragg.

“It is beyond belief that District Attorney Alvin Bragg has indicted a former President and current presidential candidate for pure political gain. Arresting a presidential candidate on a manufactured basis should not happen in America. The left’s continued attempts to weaponize our judicial system erode people’s faith in the American justice system and it needs to stop.”

SENATE REPUBLICANS REACT TO TRUMP INDICTMENT

Youngkin, another rumored 2024 candidate for President of the United States, is the latest figure to join in the condemnation of the indictment, joining Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, Senators JD Vance, Josh Hawley, Ted Cruz, and Representatives Matt Gaetz, Jim Jordan, Byron Donalds, and Lauren Boebert.

Virginia’s Republican House Speaker Todd Gilbert said, “America’s slide down the slippery slope to banana republic territory is on full display today,” according to Richmond.com

“The indictment of former President Trump is political revenge, nothing more. All Americans should be deeply concerned. If a prosecutor can play this fast and loose with the criminal justice system in order to arrest a former president he simply doesn’t like, then our entire political system is in peril,” he added.
