'Campaign Broke Fundraising Records': Release Of Mugshot Backfires On Democrats After The Country Rallies Behind Trump

On Saturday, a report from POLITICO revealed that leading Republican presidential candidate and 45th President Donald Trump raised a tremendous amount of money following his arrest and mugshot in Fulton County, Georgia.

According to the report, Trump raised $7.1 million in just over 48 hours. The Trump campaign also set a record for themselves with the largest single 24-hour haul in the campaign's history with $4.18 million being brought in only a day after Trump surrendered to authorities.

One of the biggest contributing factors that led to the massive influx of donations was the quick and timely release of merchandise with Trump's mugshot emblazoned on shirts, mugs, stickers, and other merchandise that became available within minutes of the photo's release.

As previously reported by the DC Enquirer, customers who took to the campaign store following the arrest were greeted with the following message:

"The American people know what’s going on.

What has taken place is a travesty of justice and ELECTION INTERFERENCE. The Left wants to intimidate YOU out of voting for a political outsider who puts the American people FIRST. But today, I walked into the lion’s den with one simple message on behalf of our entire movement: I WILL NEVER SURRENDER OUR MISSION TO SAVE AMERICA.

If you are doing poorly due to the sinister people in control of our country right now, don’t even think about donating!

But if you can, please make a contribution to evict Crooked Joe Biden from the White House and SAVE AMERICA during this dark chapter in our nation’s history. Thank you and God bless you."

In addition to the mugshot being instrumental in garnering millions of dollars in donations, Trump's return to X, formerly Twitter, likely substantially assisted in bringing in the $7.1 million.

In his first post since being suspended following the events of January 6, 2021, Trump posted a picture of Trump's mugshot along with the caption, "ELECTION INTERFERENCE NEVER SURRENDER! DONALDJTRUMP.COM".

Within 24 hours, Trump's post surpassed 210 million views after it had been posted for a full day. As of this report, Trump's mugshot has 211.3 million views, over 331,100 reposts, 93,700 quote tweets, 1.4 million likes, and 39,300 bookmarks.

"Thank you to MSNBC, CNN, FOX News, NY Times, Wash Post, and every other outlet for displaying Pres. Trump’s mug shot," wrote Trump campaign official Steven Cheung. "Campaign broke fundraising records and big lead in the polls continue to grow. Please continue to show it."

It is abundantly clear that Trump's mugshot will have substantial short and long-term impacts not only on his presidential campaign but on American history. The $7.1 million will surely come in handy in Trump's fight to take back the White House.
