Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate in Ohio, Rep. Tim Ryan responded to a 2019 questionnaire from the American Civil Liberties Union that he supported taxpayer-funded ‘gender affirming’ surgery for illegal aliens and convicted felons.
In the ACLU questionnaire that Ryan answered during his run for president, Ryan answered “yes” to a question asking if he would utilize “executive authority to ensure that transgender and non-binary people who rely on the state for medical care – including those in prison and immigration detention – will have access to comprehensive treatment associated with gender transition, including all necessary surgical care,” according to a Fox News report Thursday.
A spokesman for the campaign of Ryan’s opponent, the Trump-endorsed Republican J.D. Vance told Fox News in a statement that Ryan’s commitment to fund illegal aliens and convicted felons’ attempts at ‘gender reassignment’ is a “radical” position.
“Taxpayer-funded gender reassignment surgeries for illegal immigrants: you really cannot get more radical than that,” Vance’s spokesman said. “Tim Ryan has spent this entire campaign lying to Ohioans about his record and trying to convince them he’s a moderate. The truth is that he’s just a far-left, woke liberal who wants to waste taxpayer money on insane ideas like this. He doesn’t belong anywhere near the U.S. Senate.”

Emerson College Polling shows Vance at 51% and Ryan trailing with 43% as of this writing, giving Vance an 8-point lead with a 3-point margin of error.
