Do You Want DeSantis As Trump’s Vice President? Florida Governor Reveals His Answer

In an interview with Newsmax’s Eric Bolling Thursday, the presumptive Republican contender for the 2024 Presidential Primary: Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida may have dashed the hopes of a ‘unity’ ticket emerging from the GOP fray.

It seems to have only taken about eighteen seconds for the talk of ‘Trump-DeSantis 24’ to be finally laid to rest.

“I think I’m probably more of an executive guy. I mean, I think that you want to be able to do things. That’s part of the reason I got into this job is because we have action. We’re able to make things happen. And I think that’s probably what I’m best suited for.”

In a fascinating reversal, DeSantis reportedly said that the notion of former President Donald Trump running as his vice president was “interesting speculation,” according to Fox News.

“The whole party, regardless of any personalities or individuals, you have got to be looking at 2024 and saying, if the Biden regime continues, and they’re able to pick up 10-15 seats in the House and a Senate seat or two, this country is going to be in really, really bad shape,” he said.

In his own comments to Newsmax, Trump dismissed any alignment between him and his erstwhile ally in Tallahassee as “very unlikely,” on Friday.

During his stump speech in Iowa the 45th president even went as far as to compare DeSantis to failed presidential aspirants turned disgraced anti-Trump Republican legislators former House Speaker Paul Ryan of Wisconsin and Senator Mitt Romney of Utah.

According to The New York Post, DeSantis told ‘Piers Morgan Uncensored,’ “I have what it takes to be president and I can beat [President] Biden.” Alluding to his still pending campaign announcement the governor told Morgan and his audience, “Stay tuned,” in an interview that could be described as the first political broadside in what could amount to a gargantuan primary battle.

The debate over whether DeSantis will or will not run for president appears to be largely academic at this point, with the remaining uncertainties being when, where and how he will announce it and of course: How the 44-year-old career politician will fare against the celebrity billionaire-tycoon who brought 15 of them to heel in 2016.
