Donald Trump Responds To Don Lemon’s Firing From CNN – ‘The Dumbest Man On Television’

On Monday, Don Lemon announced that he has been fired from CNN after 17 years with the network.

“I was informed this morning by my agent that I have been terminated by CNN,” Lemon wrote on Twitter.

“I am stunned. After 17 years at CNN I would have thought that someone in management would have had the decency to tell me directly,” the CNN host wrote.

“At no time was I ever given any indication that I would not be able to continue to do the work I have loved at the network,” he continued. “It is clear that there are some larger issues at play.”

“With that said, I want to thank my colleagues and the many teams I have worked with for an incredible run,” he said, adding, “They are the most talented journalists in the business, and I wish them all the best.”

In response to his firing, 45th President and leading 2024 Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump responded to his firing with a statement on Truth Social.

“Good News: ‘The dumbest man on television,’ Don Lemon, has finally been fired from Fake News CNN,” Trump wrote. “My only question is, WHAT TOOK THEM SO LONG?”

CNN has come out to say that Lemon’s statement regarding his firing is inaccurate. CNN’s Public Relations Twitter wrote, “Don Lemon’s statement about this morning’s events is inaccurate. He was offered an opportunity to meet with management but instead released a statement on Twitter.”

As previously reported by the DC Enquirer, this came after CNN PR initially tweeted a tribute to Lemon, which read, “CNN and Don have parted ways. Don will forever be a part of the CNN family, and we thank him for his contributions over the past 17 years. We wish him well and will be cheering him on in his future endeavors.”

Don Lemon’s firing is a great sign for the left-leaning cable news network and it will likely be a turning point for the network to embrace its more moderate side that it has attempted to shape in the past few years.
