Eric Trump provided more details into the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) raid on former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida on Wednesday, in which the second-oldest son stated that agents were in areas of the residents where they “shouldn’t have been.”
The president’s son told The Daily Mail that agents asked Mar-a-Lago staff to turn off the estate’s security cameras. However, they refused to do so: “There’s 30 agents there,” Eric began. “They told our lawyer… you have to leave the property right now. Turn off all security cameras.”
The staff’s refusal to turn off the security cameras allowed Eric Trump to see that agents were in parts of the property that they shouldn’t have been — such as Melania Trump’s closet. President Trump said that agents left the area a mess: “Just learned that agents went through the First Lady’s closets and rummaged through her clothing and personal items. Surprisingly, left area in a relative mess. Wow!”
Eric Trump also stated that Donald Trump’s lawyer Christina Bobb was forced to stand at the end of the home’s driveway while the raid was underway: “They would not give her the search warrant,” Eric claimed. “So they showed it to her from about 10 feet away. They would not give her a copy of the search warrant.”
Such a claim confirms a recent statement released by President Trump on Truth Social that said that the agents requested people leave the residence while they conducted their search.
FEDERAL JUDGE ORDERS UNSEALING OF DOJ WARRANT USED TO EXECUTE TRUMP RAID, IN EFFORT TO GET ANSWERS FROM BIDEN ADMINISTRATION: ‘OUR COUNTRY IS GOING TO HELL’
“The FBI and others from the Federal Government would not let anyone, including my lawyers, be anywhere near the areas that were rummaged and otherwise looked at during the raid on Mar-a-Lago,” President Trump explained, adding, “Everyone was asked to leave the premises, they wanted to be left alone, without any witnesses to see what they were doing, taking or, hopefully not, ‘planting.’ Why did they STRONGLY insist on having nobody watching them, everybody out? Obama and Clinton were never ‘raided,’ despite big disputes!”
Bobb told Real America News on Tuesday that she was shown the warrant but she said it was partly sealed and “it was very thin, I would say, thin.”
“When I arrived and kind of announced myself as the legal representation for President Trump. I asked to see a copy of the warrant,” the Trump lawyer explained.
“Initially they refused and said, ‘You know, we don’t have to show it to you.’ And there was a little bit of an exchange about whether it was appropriate to withhold the warrant when you’re searching the residence of the former president, who’s likely to be the Republican nominee in the next election,” Bobb explained, adding, “though they conceded and let me see it, they did not give me a copy of it right away, but they did let me see it.”
Eric Trump claimed that the raid represented “a coordinated attack by the FBI.” He also argued that the raid didn’t go forward without the express approval of President Joe Biden: “Do you think that the FBI director is going to raid the former president’s house, especially a house as you know, kind of world-renowned as Mar-a-Lago is in a place as public as Mar Lago is without getting the approval of President [Biden]?”
Since the interview, Attorney General Merrick Garland told reporters Thursday that he personally signed off on the raid of Mar-a-Lago, but failed to provide significant details as to the raid’s motivations, however, the warrant for the operation will be released soon following the Department of Justice’s unsealing of the document.
As the story of Monday night continued to unfold, Americans are faced with more questions than answers as the lack of transparency into the investigation has led to Republicans across the country rallying to President Trump’s side in defense of what they see as a politicization of the FBI and DOJ to usurp a potential 2024 presidential run by the likely GOP nominee.
