National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases director Dr. Anthony Fauci and his wife saw a $5 million increase in their net worth during the coronavirus pandemic as the presidential advisor advocated closing down the economy, leaving Americans suffering.

The Fauci family, according to watchdog group OpenTheBooks, saw their net worth increase from $7.5 million in 2019 to $12.6 million by the end of 2021. They saw their investment gains reach $900,000 in 2021 with an $800,000 increase in 2020 alone, according to the OpenTheBooks analysis.

“While Dr. Fauci has been a government bureaucrat for more than 55 years, his household net worth skyrocketed during the pandemic,” OpenTheBooks CEO Adam Andrzejewski told Fox News. “Fauci’s soaring net worth was based on career-end salary spiking, lucrative cash prizes awarded by non-profit organizations around the world, and an ever-larger investment portfolio.”

“Despite becoming a figure of controversy, the system has rewarded Dr. Fauci handsomely,” the CEO explained. “For example, he is the top-paid federal employee, his first-year golden parachute retirement pension is the largest in federal history, and he’s accepting $1 million prizes from foreign non-profits.”

Dr. Fauci was forced to disclose his financial records for the fiscal years of 2019 and 2020 in January 2022 by Sen. Roger Marshall (R-KS).

The NIAID Director has been the most highly salaried employee in the federal government with $456,000 in 2021 and $480,000 in 2022. In addition to taxpayers giving Fauci nearly half a million dollars, the controversial doctor received generous gifts.

“In January 2021, Fauci received a $1 million prize for the prestigious Dan David Prize affiliated with Tel Aviv University for “speaking truth to power” and “defending science” during the Trump administration, the analysis explained. “Disclosures show that Fauci kept $901,400 of that prize with roughly 10 percent awarded to handpicked scholarship winners.”

“Fauci also collected awards of $12,500 from the Eliot Richardson Prize in Public Service on July 31, 2021, and the Abelson Prize from the American Association for the Advancement of Science on February 8, 2021,” the report continued.

While gifts and awards to Fauci topped $910,174, he also brought in over $100,000 in royalties from book deals.

“Disclosures show that Dr. Fauci edits the medical textbook, Harrison’s Principles of Internal Medicine and serves on the board of the publisher, McGraw Hill,” OpenTheBooks continued, adding, “In 2021, Fauci received at least $100,000 as an editor of the publication.”

Dr. Fauci, who has announced his retirement for December, is leaving his office $5 million richer as the policies that he advised led to millions of Americans losing their livelihood.

If Republicans take back Congress this November, they will drag Dr. Fauci to Capitol Hill to answer for his record. Only then will Americans begin to get answers from the NIAID Director and hopefully justice.
