Rep James Comer (R-KY) announced during a Sunday appearance on NBC’s “Meet The Press” that a Republican-led House Oversight Committee will focus on “40 to 50″ different things when it launches its new investigations.

After host Chuck Todd asked Comer which investigation he most looked forward to, Comer replied, “We’re going to investigate between 40 and 50 different things. We have the capacity. We’ll have 25 members on the committee, and we’ll have a staff close to 70. So we have the ability to investigate a lot of things. Over the past two years, the Democrats haven’t investigated anything in this administration.” Comer answered.

“They investigated the Washington Commanders football team. We’ve had several hearings on social issues that the oversight committee has nothing to do with, issues like abortion. We believe there will have been hundreds of billions, if not trillions dollars, wasted over the past three years, so that spans two administrations in the name of COVID.”

Comer then laid out what the GOP would do differently.

We want hearings on that. We want to determine what with the fraudulent PPP funds, some of this money being spend for state and local governments in the COVID stimulus monies. These are things that will be priority for us as a committee.”

Comer, who is a ranking member of the House Oversight Committee, has been vocal about a number of high-profile plans for the GOP-led house — including investigations into both Joe Biden and Hunter Biden.

“As such, this investigation will be a top priority. We are releasing a report today that details what we have uncovered. We are also sending letters to the Biden Administration officials and Biden family associates renewing our request for voluntary production of documents relevant to this investigation… This is an investigation of Joe Biden, the President of the United States, and why he lied to the American people about his knowledge and participation in his family’s international business schemes.” Comer announced earlier this month.

These investigations will surely cause Joe Biden and his Administration to reflect on their reckless and irresponsible behaviors — behaviors that endanger the future of the American people.
