This Monday, Congressman James Comer (R-KY) vowed the House Oversight Committee would investigate President Biden’s family’s business dealings, including investigating those who did business with the Bidens.
“Anyone that was in business with the Bidens, that were on these accounts, that were partners in these LLCs, they need to tell everyone exactly what the business was,” James Comer told the National Press Club. “You got a two-, three-million-dollar wire from this company that’s affiliated with the Chinese Communist Party, what service were you providing? Because it wasn’t real estate. They weren’t manufacturing anything. What were they doing?”
In the same interview, Comer would not commit to bringing Hunter Biden before the Oversight Committee, claiming the investigation is centered on Joe Biden and not his son. That being said, Comer did express skepticism over Hunter’s business dealings, arguing, “I would find it very surprising that a bank would file a suspicious activity report on the son of a sitting vice president of the United States unless there had been some type of major violation.”

This is in keeping with previous comments about the motive for the investigation. When Comer announced the investigations back in November, he claimed, “We are also sending letters to the Biden Administration officials and Biden family associates renewing our request for voluntary production of documents relevant to this investigation… This is an investigation of Joe Biden, the President of the United States, and why he lied to the American people about his knowledge and participation in his family’s international business schemes.”
He also claimed Republicans had already uncovered evidence for federal crimes, “committed by and to the benefit of members of the President’s family.”
These are significant charges and we will have to wait and see what evidence the House Republicans bring forward. One thing is clear: Biden and his family have engaged in highly suspicious activity, activity which the American people have every right to know about. President Biden and our other elected officials work for us.
