Late Night Icon Jay Leno slammed “whiny” celebrities after giving important updates on his condition following a car fire accident.

“You have to joke about it. There’s nothing worse than whiny celebrities. If you joke about it, people laugh along with you. Eight days later, I had a brand new face… And it’s better than what was there before.” Leno told the Wall Street Journal.

Leno added, “But really, it was an accident, that’s all. Anybody who works with their hands on a regular basis is going to have an accident at some point. If you play football, you get a concussion or a broken leg. Anything you do, there’s a risk factor.”

As the DC Enquirer reported last month, Leno was in good condition following surgery for injuries sustained in the fire. In fact, he was remarkably jovial in an interview with Page Six following the incident.

“‘I got some serious burns from a gasoline fire,’ the comedian, 72, told Page Six in a statement Monday afternoon. ‘I am OK. Just need a week or two to get back on my feet.'”

It is great to hear Leno has recovered well. Leno is known for his love of all things cars, and it would be truly unfortunate if he could not continue this treasured pastime of his.

Truly, besides being a renowned comedian, Leno is an avid vintage car collector.  Leno hosts the CNBC series “Jay Leno’s Garage,” which has been produced since 2015 after all and it is no stretch to call Leno an automotive fanatic. US News writes the following about his collection:

Donald Trump is plotting his comeback to Twitter and Facebook. Should he do it?*

“Jay Leno’s legendary car collection now boasts over 180 exotic cars, hypercars and museum-grade artifacts. Put simply, nobody else in the world has a space-age McLaren P1 parked near their antique fire engine,” US News reports.

That is very impressive! Almost as impressive as the 22 seasons he hosted the Tonight Show for NBC. That’s second to comedy great Johnny Carson. It is fantastic that Leno still has the energy and liveliness to remain in the public eye for all these years. But if anyone could do it, he certainly can!
