Ohio GOP Candidate for Senate J.D. Vance won big league on Tuesday, besting his opponent Democrat Rep Tim Ryan (D-OH) in a major victory for the Trump-backed Republican.

Vance had been leading in polls heading into election night. Real Clear Politics gave Vance an 8-point advantage, one that jumped up to +12.3 once adjusted for how much polls typically underestimate Republican support.

Vance has had an interesting road toward politics. An author, lawyer, venture capitalist, and Former Marine, Vance rose to national notoriety after writing the best-selling “Hillbilly Elegy.” With that resume, we look forward to seeing what he will do in Congress and most importantly, for the state of Ohio.
