On Thursday, a bus carrying migrants once again arrived at the residence of Vice President Kamala Harris (D), and two more buses arrived in New York City at Manhattan’s Port Authority that same day.
The previous day, seven buses arrived in New York as states like Texas, Arizona, and Florida continue to bus and fly migrants to sanctuary cities across the country, as reported by Fox News.
Making matters worse for these sanctuary cities is that Democrat-run cities on the border like El Paso, Texas are also busing migrants across the United States.
El Paso has sent more migrant buses to cities like Chicago and New York City than the state of Texas busing program created by Gov. Greg Abbott (R-TX), according to Reuters.
The city, which lies just across the border from Juarez, Mexico, has bused a total of 7,000 migrants to New York City since mid-August while Chicago has received 1,800 migrants.
In comparison to El Paso’s program, Gov. Abbott has sent 3,000 migrants to the Big Apple and 900 to the Windy City showcasing Democrats’ selective outrage at Gov. Abbott but not at the Democrat mayor of El Paso.
Washington, D.C., however, has seen the biggest influx of migrants with 10,000 arriving from Texas and Arizona leading to Mayor Muriel Bowser (D) declaring a public emergency for the city and requesting the national guard to assist, according to Fox News.
In New York City, Mayor Eric Adams (D) is taking just as drastic measures with his office currently in negotiations to house migrants on cruise ships after the city opened 39 emergency shelters to house migrants, per Fox 5.
Republican governors across the country have used the busing programs to emphasize the importance of securing the southern border and forcing a conversation on border security that Democrats have been neglecting under the Biden Administration.
According to a recent Gallup Poll, voters see immigration as the second most important non-economic issue in the country with six percent of respondents saying it was their most important issue. Further strengthening Republicans, a Reuters/Ipsos poll shows that Republicans are trusted to handle immigration at 40 percent compared to Democrats’ 32 percent.
Democrats continue to neglect the border and they have now begun to feel the consequences of their actions. Republicans are forcing a conversation and the longer President Biden ignores it, the more voters will flock to the GOP.
