New Poll Shows Trump Dominating Competition, Highest Net Favorability Score Among Republicans

A new poll put out by the Morning Consult shows Donald Trump dominating Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) when it comes to net favorability among Republican voters.

The 45th president had a net 61 percent approval rating. An overwhelming 80 percent of Republicans have a favorable view of Donald Trump. Only 19 percent of Republicans have an unfavorable view of Trump and only one percent have no opinion about the 45th president.  Meanwhile, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has an impressive 66 percent favorability rating. While only 14 percent disapprove of DeSantis, his net favorability only comes out to +52 percent — trailing Donald Trump by 14 percentage points. Twenty percent of voters have either not heard of Governor DeSantis or have no opinion of him.

Trump’s lead also holds when it comes to a hypothetical 2024 matchup. This shows Donald Trump is still the front-runner when it comes to securing the coveted 2024 nomination.

“Trump leads his closest likely rival, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, by 25 percentage points among potential Republican primary voters, 53% to 28%. The 25-point gap in the latest survey follows a 26-point lead that Trump held in another survey conducted Feb. 26-28 — the largest advantages gauged since our daily tracking of the hypothetical contest began in early December,” the Morning Consult reports.

The poll finds that Trump’s lead over Ron DeSantis has grown since January. DeSantis’s support continues to decline, although he leads all other Republican competitors by a considerable margin — grabbing 28 percent of voter support in a hypothetical matchup. Former Governor Pence has seven percent support, and former Trump United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley has four percent of support.

TRUMP TRIUMPHS IN NEW HAMPSHIRE PRIMARY POLL, CARRIES A MASSIVE 41-POINT LEAD, SEE WHO’S TRAILING HIM

This is not the only recent poll showing Trump dominating the competition. A recent survey published by Emerson College Polling finds, “Former President Donald Trump holds a 41-point lead in a hypothetical Republican primary, with 58% support. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis holds 17%, followed by Governor Sununu at 7%, former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley at 6%, and former Vice President Mike Pence at 4%.”

Trump’s America First message continues to resonate with Republican voters heading into 2023 and that should scare any Democrat hoping to compete.
