Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) has joined a host of other House Republicans who have decided to stand up against the $1.7 trillion, 4,155-page omnibus spending package currently being considered in the Senate.

“I’m proud to support my colleagues in this letter calling on the [Senate GOP] to oppose the Democrats’ Omnibus spending bill,” the Florida representative wrote on Twitter. “No more status quo. No more bad deals. No more screwing over our nation. VOTE NO ON THE OMNIBUS.”

“Every Republican should be a NO on the omnibus spending bill,” he continuedadding, “Any Senate Republican that agrees to a 9-month omnibus spending bill will steal the ability for House Republicans to secure the border. You will be complicit in Biden’s border crisis!!”

13 House Republicans signed a letter on Monday warning Senate Republicans to not vote for the omnibus package. Otherwise, the House GOP would halt any legislative priorities that the GOP senators want to pursue in the next Congress, per Breitbart.

The expected next Speaker of the House Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) agreed with the 13 brave members: “Agreed. Except no need to whip—when I’m Speaker, their bills will be dead on arrival in the House if this nearly $2T monstrosity is allowed to move forward over our objections and the will of the American people.”

Other members who signed the letter also took to Twitter to voice their outrage at Senate Republicans who have yet to take a stand. “The Democrats’ omnibus spending bill is more than 4,000 pages long,” Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ) wrote. “They expect Congress to rubber stamp this $2 trillion monstrosity and are pressuring us to do that right before the holidays. No Republican should cave into this political warfare.”

Rep. Chip Roy has taken an even more active role in attempting to force the Senate Republicans to vote no on the legislation. In reference to an article on The Hill that stated that senators start to feel the pain when their constituents call them to voice their opinion on the omnibus.

“Oh… I’m (not) sorry, [Senate GOP]… you don’t want to hear from your constituents?” Congressman Roy asked. “Who don’t want to be sold down the river yet again? CALL THEM, AMERICA. And if we won’t kill the bill? CALL THEM AGAIN, AND AGAIN – and PRIMARY THEM.”

“If Senate GOP hands the Biden Administration a blank check without demanding they secure the border,” Rep. Roy wrote, adding, “this becomes the McConnell Border Crisis.”

Congressmen like Byron Donalds and Chip Roy are doing the best they can to stop this destructive bill by lobbying the Senate GOP. The best way to change Senate Republicans’ minds, however, is by having constituents call them.
