President Trump Blasts IRS For ‘House Call’ to Twitter Files Journalist Matt Taibbi

On Tuesday, 45th President Donald Trump took to Truth Social to blast the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) for visiting Twitter Files journalist Matt Taibbi’s house while he was testifying in front of the House Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government earlier this month.

“So interesting to see the IRS ‘MAKE A STRANGE HOUSE CALL’ (WSJ) ON MATT TAIBBI DURING HIS HOUSE TESTIMONY ON TWITTER AND ALL SORTS OF BAD GOVERNMENT ACTS,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “THAT IS NOT A COINCIDENCE, IT IS JUST PLAIN BRAZEN & STUPID!”

“BUT EVEN MORE BRAZEN & STUPID IS THE WAY THEY HAVE HANDLED ME, LEAKING INFORMATION (WHICH IS ILLEGAL!) &, MAKING A DEAL & THEN BREAKING IT FOR STRICTLY POLITICAL REASONS,” the Republican frontrunner stated. “I HAD A ‘DONE DEAL’ BEFORE RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT-THEY BROKE IT! TREATED WORSE THAN TEA PARTY & EVANGELICALS.”

“I could have easily made a very good deal with the IRS during my 4 years as President, but thought it inappropriate to do so,” he continued. “Besides, I already had a deal from before my Presidency-A deal which they choose not to honor.”

“So now I am demanding the original deal, without late changes in the rules & regulations so that deal would be harder to make,” Trump concluded, adding, “Most people would say that after watching the Biden family take advantage of government, I should have made deal during my term. To me, CONFLICT.”

As previously reported by the DC Enquirer, an IRS officer left a note at the journalist’s New Jersey home that asked Mr. Taibbi to contact them. When Mr. Taibbi returned to his New Jersey abode after testifying before Congress, he found the note and contacted the agency.
They informed him that “his electronic 2018 and 2021 tax return filings had been rejected due to concerns of identity theft.” The journalist contends that he never received such concerns from the IRS prior to his testifying before Congress according to Just The News.

Representative Jordan demanded an accounting by the IRS of its conduct and that they forward all documentation and information about the incident to the House Judiciary Committee. In a tweet about the incident, the Ohio Republican simply emphasized that on “[t]he very day Matt Taibbi testified before the @Weaponization Committee, the IRS showed up at his house. ???”

Mr. Taibbi for his part also took to social media to merely comment that “For those asking, I don’t want to comment on the IRS issue pending an answer to chairman @Jim_Jordan’s letter. I’m not worried for myself, but I did feel the Committee should be aware of the situation.”

Once again the federal government is being used to go after those who seek to expose potential censorship or corruption.
