WATCH: Wealthy Chicago Suburb Requests Residents Take Illegal Migrants Into Their Homes

A city councilman in Naperville, Illinois, suggested that residents of the affluent community begin to take migrants into their own homes as the city of Chicago, just 45 minutes west of the Windy City, has been repeatedly overrun by illegal migrants coming into the United States via the US-Mexico border.

Councilman Josh McBroom suggested that residents step up to take in migrants during a city council meeting on Tuesday. "In light of the fact, I'm not going to support using other people's money to house or [for] aid. I do know that there's a lot of people that do care, and I think we live in a compassionate community, so before we go down the road of, you know, following suit on some of these other cities are taking action on, my idea would be, let's find out, let's find out who's willing to help," the Naperville official said.

"You know, we do hear from constituents on both sides of this; what are we going to do to preemptively stop this? And then we hear from people that tell us we should do more, so we do have a very affluent community, a lot of big homes, and what I'd like to do is direct staff to create a sign-up sheet … for individuals that would be willing to house migrant families," McBroom said during the meeting, as reported by Fox News. "And if there's people that would do that, God bless them. So, if we could raise awareness in that way, I think we need to find out. I think we need to find out who would be willing to house migrant families. That would be my new business. I would be looking for support from the diocese. Any questions, discussion, happy to have that."

As the city of Chicago and the surrounding area deal with the influx of tens of thousands of illegal migrants to the area, Mayor Brandon Johnson (D) has attempted to blame Gov. Greg Abbott (R-TX) for attacking "leaders of color" by busing thousands of migrants to the city. During an MSNBC interview earlier this month, Johnson claimed that Abbott "is attacking democratically-run cities, and particularly cities that are being led by Black leaders or leaders-of-color. This is unconscionable. I mean, it's a very raggedy approach. And quite frankly, not only is it reckless and raggedy, but it is evil-spirited."

As hundreds of thousands of migrants cross the southern border every month, border communities and big cities alike are being overwhelmed. Migrants in other Democrat-run areas have already taken over hotels, schools, and stadiums. It is only a matter of time before even more residents in these areas are asked to take in migrants like the residents of Naperville.

Take in a few. Sounds like a good plan.

Perhaps ALL the "open border" types should "put their money where their mouth is" and take some of the burden off the rest of us?
