BREAKING: President Biden Reveals His Plans To Debate Donald Trump

On Friday, President Joe Biden joined radio host Howard Stern for a live interview to discuss the 2024 presidential election as the president attempts to connect more with working-class Americans. During the interview, Biden revealed that he would "be happy" to debate presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump as the two ramp up their campaign operations for the general election.

"I am, somewhere. I don't know when. But I'm happy to debate him," Biden told Stern. In response to Biden's informal announcement, senior Trump campaign manager Chris LaCivita wrote on X, "Ok let's set it up!" Some political commentators hypothesized that Biden would skip the debate given that Trump had skipped the Republican primary debates earlier this year. Biden's announcement, however, seems to dispel that speculation. News organizations and the Trump campaign have repeatedly pressured the Biden campaign to agree to general election debates, with Trump even demanding that there be more debates than in 2020 or 2016.

During a rally earlier this month in Wisconsin, Trump told the audience, "You can see we have an empty podium right here to my right. You know what that is? That's for Joe Biden. I am trying to get him to debate. I'm calling on 'Crooked Joe' to debate anytime, anyplace. We'll do it any way you want, Joe." The Trump campaign sent a letter to the Commission on Presidential Debates requesting that the scheduled debates be moved up earlier in the fall to ensure that they occur before early voting begins and to ask for more debates to take place between the two candidates.

"While the Commission on Presidential Debates has already announced three presidential debates and a vice-presidential debate to occur later this year, we are in favor of these debates beginning much earlier," Trump campaign manager Chris LaCivita and Susie Wiles wrote, adding that the commission "must move up the timetable of its proposed 2024 debates to ensure more Americans have a full chance to see the candidates before they start voting, and we would argue for adding more debates in addition to those on the currently proposed schedule."

As reported by the New York Times,  ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC, Fox News, and The Associated Press, in a united effort, sent a letter to the Biden and Trump campaigns urging them to debate. "We, the undersigned national news organizations, urge the presumptive presidential nominees to publicly commit to participating in general election debates before November's election," the letter reads.

Biden and Trump went head-to-head in two debates before the 2020 election, with the third debate having to be canceled due to Trump's contraction of the coronavirus. Additional debates between Trump and Biden would be a welcome sign to ensure that voters know where each candidate stands on a plethora of issues.

Biden mumbling as usual. Keeps those conversations short or drug the old crook and hope he lives through it.
