BREAKING: President Trump Calls for Congressional Investigation – ‘It is DISGRACEFUL!’

On Tuesday, the 45th President of the United States Donald Trump issued a new statement calling upon Congress to investigate New York Attorney General Leticia James (D) and explained that the current case against him brought by District Attorney Alvin Bragg (D) should be put into the commercial division.

“While Congress is at it, they should look at the Corrupt Attorney General of New York State, Letitia James, who got elected solely on a ‘I WILL GET TRUMP’ platform, without knowing anything about me,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “She then brought a completely bogus lawsuit, which is presided over by an A.G. picked, Trump hating Judge, a political hack whose Court this case should not be in – It should be in the Commercial Division, but he wouldn’t let go, is pushing it hard, and knows exactly what he wants to do.”

“The Chief Judge of New York State should remove this ridiculous case to the Commercial Division, where it belongs,” he continued, adding, “Legal professionals are asking why this hasn’t happened long ago? It is DISGRACEFUL!”

As reported by the Washington Post, during James’ 2018 campaign for attorney general, she promised to go after Trump saying at the time, “I will be shining a bright light into every dark corner of his real estate dealings, and every dealing, demanding truthfulness at every turn.”

President Trump’s call for an investigation into the New York A.G. comes after Speaker of the House Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) launched an investigation into Manhattan District Attorney Bragg.

“Here we go again — an outrageous abuse of power by a radical DA who lets violent criminals walk as he pursues political vengeance against President Trump,” wrote the House speaker. “I’m directing relevant committees to immediately investigate if federal funds are being used to subvert our democracy by interfering in elections with politically motivated prosecutions.”

As previously reported by the DC Enquirer, following McCarthy’s announcement, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), Rep. James Comer (R-KY), and Rep. Bryan Steil (R-WI) called upon Bragg to come to testify to Congress. 

The three chairmen also demanded that the Manhattan D.A.’s office hand over all documents and communications between itself and the Department of Justice, documents related to former employees Carey Dunne and Mark Pomerantz, and all receipts of federal funds.

“Your decision to pursue such a politically motivated prosecution—while adopting progressive criminal justice policies that allow career ‘criminals [to] run[ ] the streets’ of Manhattan—requires congressional scrutiny about how public safety funds appropriated by Congress are implemented by local law enforcement agencies,” the three Republicans wrote in a letter to Bragg. “In addition, your apparent decision to pursue criminal charges where federal authorities declined to do so requires oversight to inform potential legislative reforms about the delineation of prosecutorial authority between federal and local officials.”

It is clear that the Democrats at the head of the New York legal system are utilizing their office to go after President Trump while ignoring the rampant crime that is taking place within their state.
