Despite Mass Unpopularity, Chris Christie Is Expected To Jump Into The 2024 Presidential Race Next Week

Former Governor Chris Christie (R-NJ) is reported to be prepared to launch his bid for the White House next week as a Republican candidate, as per Breitbart News

The former governor of the Garden State is 60 years old and this isn't his first bid for the White House. Christie was a candidate for the White House back in 2016 but was upstaged by Donald Trump whom the then-governor dropped out and endorsed. Christie's second and final term as governor ended in 2018. Christie ended up in his post-governor career becoming a lobbyist for a business that took advantage of federal coronavirus aid.

Christie turned on former President Trump calling him a "coward" and was in favor of his impeachment for the January 6th riot. His campaign will be "focused on New Hampshire", which is an early primary state that has traditionally determined the winner of the Republican primary. Christie's Twitter account is full of critical comments about Trump and the former president's positions. When Trump successfully appeared at a CNN Townhall event, Christie had a lot of opinions to share.

Christie opined that "Donald Trump refused to say tonight that he wanted Ukraine to win the war with Russia. More proof that he continues to be Putin’s puppet."

"Donald Trump says he would end the war in Ukraine in 24 hours tonight on CNN," Christie further emphasized. "Despite how ridiculous that is to say, I suspect he would try to do it by turning Ukraine over to Putin and Russia. #Putin'sPuppet."
When he was not ranting about delusional and debunked stories about Russian collusion, the former governor also tweeted "More nonsense from Donald Trump last night. Fact: He promised to build a big beautiful wall on the border. Fact: He did not deliver & immigrants are pouring over the border. Fact: He said Mexico would pay for it. Fact: We have not gotten one peso yet. He failed us on immigration." Trump claimed that his renegotiated trade deal with Mexico (and Canada), the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement, would get Mexico to pay for the wall. Trump tweeted back in 2018 that "I often stated, 'One way or the other, Mexico is going to pay for the Wall.' This has never changed. Our new deal with Mexico (and Canada), the USMCA, is so much better than the old, very costly & anti-USA NAFTA deal, that just by the money we save, MEXICO IS PAYING FOR THE WALL!"
Additionally, hundreds of miles of the wall were completed under the Trump administration that either reinforced older border barriers or added wholly new sections. Further, Trump's border policy helped stem the flow of illegal immigration into the country.

Making matters worse for the perspective candidate, he hasn't made a blip on any national polls of the Republican primary and even 70 percent of New Jersey Republicans won't back their former governor for higher office.
