‘F*ck Their Day Up’: Activists Plot To Fill Neighborhood With Homeless People Ahead Of MLB All-Star Game

Activists in Seattle are attempting to throw a wrench in the city’s efforts to clear homeless encampments ahead of the upcoming MLB All Star game by planning an RV “park in,” according to a flyer obtained by KOMO TV and shared with the Daily Caller News Foundation.

The city gave homeless RV residents parked throughout Seattle’s SODO neighborhood, near the city’s T-Mobile Park baseball stadium, notices to relocate and move their belongings from the area ahead of the game, according to KOMO News. Activists distributed flyers to homeless residents living out of RVs advising them to move back to the SODO neighborhood as parking rules lapse the night before the game in order to negate the city’s efforts to clear out homeless encampments in the area.

“They’ve been pushing us around for months hoping to clear us out of sight for the MLB All-Star game on July 11. Let’s make sure all their work was for nothing!” the flyer read. “Just imagine when the tailgaters and rich assholes show up for the big game they’re going to find exactly what the city worked to hard to prevent: us!”

The protest will begin July 10 with activists providing all-day assistance along with coffee and food before moving the RVs to the SODO neighborhood around midnight, at which point neighborhood’s no parking zones expire, and hosting a party beginning at 1 a.m., according to the flyer.

“Fuck baseball. Fuck this mayor. Fuck this city,” the flyer read. “Let’s fuck their day up.”

The flyers appeared to be distributed by a group called Sweepless In Seattle, who refer to themselves as a collection of homeless activists.

The phone number listed on the flyer went directly to a full voicemail box, and the contact did not respond to the DCNF’s call or text inquiry.
