Prince Harry In Hot Water: Republican Organization Investigating If He Received Preferential Treatment In Immigration Lawsuit

The Oversight Project of The Heritage Foundation announced on Twitter that they are suing Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS). They wrote that they are doing so “for Prince Harry’s immigration records” and asked, “Did the Prince receive preferential treatment from the U.S. government?”

They further detailed that “Prince Harry admitted in his book, Spare, to being a prolific drug user. Under U.S. immigration law, you can’t come in if you admit to a drug crime. You can only come in temporarily if you get a waiver. But the Prince was allowed in.”

They explained, “Our lawsuit seeks to uncover records to determine whether the Prince received preferential treatment during his immigration process.”

The Oversight Project noted that the “DHS’s refusal to answer our lawful FOIA request doesn’t pass the laugh test. They inferred Prince Harry apparently has a privacy interest in his drug use, even though he wrote about it in his book! We brought up how crazy that sounds in our lawsuit.” Attached to that tweet is a screenshot from South Park’s satirical episode on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

“This isn’t about Prince Harry personally; this is about answering massive media questions regarding whether DHS acted appropriately in an extremely high-profile and unusual case," the Oversight Project emphasized.

The legal complaint by The Heritage Foundation totals 1,388 pages. The lawsuit noted that Prince Harry’s case “cannot be separated from its broader context. The press and Congressional hearing rooms are replete with detailed accusations that DHS is deliberately refusing to enforce the Country’s immigration laws and is responsible for the current crisis at the border. Indeed, the broader controversy is so grave that Articles of Impeachment have been filed against DHS Secretary Alejandro N. Mayorkas…and Secretary Mayorkas has taken the extraordinary step of retaining private counsel to represent him in impeachment proceedings.”

The lawsuit further detailed the role of The Heritage Foundation’s Oversight Project. The lawsuit documented that it “is an initiative aimed at obtaining information via Freedom of Information Act requests and other means in order to best inform the public and Congress for the purposes of Congressional oversight… By function, the Oversight Project is primarily engaged in disseminating information to the public.”
