WATCH: Celebrity Trainer Jillian Michaels BLASTS Biden's Title IX Changes - 'You're Not Transphobic'

In an interview with Newsmax last week, celebrity fitness trainer Jillian Michaels, best known for her appearances on 'The Biggest Loser,' slammed the Biden administration's recent Title IX changes that significantly deteriorated protections for young girls in athletics by forcing public institutions to cater to biological males who believe they are women.

As previously reported by the DC Enquirer, the Biden administration updated Title IX earlier this month by including sexual orientation and gender identity as protected classes. The change could open up colleges and universities that receive federal funding to lawsuits if they refuse to allow male students who identify as females to access women's locker rooms. The new rules also could put female athletes' scholarships at risk, and it also reverses the hard-fought due process protections for those accused of sexual harassment.

The Biden administration initially attempted to propose a rule that would have forced federally funded institutions to allow men who identify as female to compete in women's sports, but they reversed course after considerable backlash and the upcoming 2024 election. The Title IX changes were made amid considerable scrutiny, with hundreds of thousands of comments from the public being considered.

In response to the changes, Michaels condemned those pushing for biological males to compete against women as "absurd" given the innate advantages that men have over women in terms of physical strength. "I'm empathetic to the situation; I completely understand why we want to provide inclusion," the fitness coach told Newsmax. "But we also need to provide a level playing field, and you have to determine what's the overriding principle here, right?"

"And the science just does not lend itself to this case. If you look at every single aspect, from a genetic predisposition to strength, there are over 6,500 genes in biological men and biological women that express themselves differently; 3,000 of those differences impact the musculoskeletal system," she explained. "I could go on and on and on. The data is not there, and it's simply not fair. You're not transphobic; you're not a bigot if you're pointing out the unbelievable differences and the insane advantage that biological males have, even on puberty blockers."

Michaels went on to explain that the data is overwhelming and that defenders of women's sports don't even have to make the case that biological males could use the carve-outs for transgender athletes to prey on women.

The fitness influencer's comments come after Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (R-TX) filed a lawsuit against the Biden administration for its blatantly "illegal" actions. Paxton's lawsuit coincided with Gov. Greg Abbott's (R-TX) order that the Texas Education Agency would not follow the Title IX changes when they go into effect later this year.
