Evelyn Dieckhaus, one of the three 9-year-old children brutally murdered by a transgender shooter at The Covenant Elementary School in Nashville Monday was reportedly killed while heroically alerting her school to the imminent danger.

The Daily Mail, citing the Dieckhaus family reported that the girl “had been desperately trying to pull the fire alarm to get help when the shooting unfolded on Monday.”

According to The Western Journal, Dieckhaus was attempting to pull the alarm to summon help, but by the time it came, she was already gone. Her family gave a statement to the media, according to WZTV-TV,

“Our hearts are completely broken. We cannot believe this has happened. Evelyn was a shining light in this world. We appreciate all the love and support but ask for space as we grieve.”

BEAUCHAMP: IN THE WAKE OF NASHVILLE SHOOTING, THE MEDIA DOESN’T SHY AWAY FROM ITS ANTI-CHRISTIAN NARRATIVE

The Post Millennial reported that from the moment the perpetrator started shooting, it took just four minutes for police to eliminate the threat.

In those four minutes, the shooter shot and killed William Kinney, 9 Evelyn Dieckhaus, 9 Hallie Scruggs, 9 Katherine Koonce, 60 Cynthia Peak, 61 Mike Hill, 61. These innocent children and adults were tragically ripped away from their families and their church.

In those four minutes, Evelyn Dieckhaus found a few seconds of courage that many of us can only aspire to.
