'A Massive Gift To The Republicans': Kamala Harris' Running Mate Pick Could Lead To Her Defeat In November

Following Vice President Kamala Harris' selection of Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN) as her running mate on the Democratic ticket, Republican lawmakers and conservative commentators laid out the race ahead with the Democrats' radical presidential ticket set in stone. The pick, which sidestepped Gov. Josh Shapiro (D-PA), showcases Harris' willingness to not upset the left-wing party pushing against Shapiro due to his stance on Israel.

"Picking Walz is a massive gift to the Republicans," conservative commentator Ben Shapiro wrote. "He's a radical Leftist from a non-swing state with a long history of insane statements, who presided over the burning down of his state in 2020. Kamala picked him because he's not a Jew, and she's Too Online™."

"As someone who wants Kamala to lose, picking Walz is wonderful! It's political malpractice!" Shapiro asserted. "Why? 1. Not from a swing state. 2. Radical, underscoring her radicalism. 3. She rejected (((Shapiro))) to please the pro-Hamas caucus. She's not competent. And this pick shows it."

"The first rule of VP picks is 'do no harm,'" the Daily Wire host posted. "Kamala just violated that rule in spades, mainly by demonstrating that she's more interested in doubling down on her radical base than in winning -- which is her entire electoral vulnerability. I'm truly amazed by the incompetence."

Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) noted that the Harris-Walz ticket is the most radical ticket in American history. "Harris-Walz: most left-wing ticket in American history," he explained. "Minnesota was ground zero for the BLM riots of 2020.  Harris egged it on and Walz sat by and let Minneapolis burn."

Walz, a former school teacher, former National Guardsman, and former congressman, gained the support of a number of key players in the Democrat Party including former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT). The Minnesota governor also gained the support of organized labor.

The Minnesota governor beat out several other contenders who fell in prominence among the vetting team after initially making the cut to be on the shortlist. Those eliminated from contention include Gov. Josh Shapiro (D-PA), Senator Mark Kelly (D-AZ), Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, Governor Andy Beshear (D-KY), and Governor J.B. Pritzker (D-IL).

Harris and Walz will go on a battleground state tour to seven cities nationwide in the next five days. The locations include Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Eau Claire, Wisconsin; Detroit, Michigan; Durham, North Carolina; Savannah, Georgia; Phoenix, Arizona; and Las Vegas, Nevada.
