Gov. Greg Abbott (R-TX) appeared on Fox News’ “Saturday Morning Futures” this weekend, and hammered the Commander-in-Chief for his poor supervision of the Southern Border.

“It was just two years ago we had the lowest number of people coming across the border and apprehensions under President Trump,” the Texas Republican said, before expressing his ire towards the current administration.

“Then President Biden took over and eliminated all of the policies that President Trump put in place, and it has led to this unprecedented, overwhelming number of people coming across the border,” he continued. “There’s a record number of people coming across the border from more than 150 different countries across the entire globe.”

Abbott went on to connect border crossings with cartel activity and drug trafficking, reminding American citizens of the innocent lives being lost during this unprecedented crisis.

Abbott added, “It gets worse… You remember what happened in the tractor-trailer truck, where 53 people lost their lives? Listen, things like that happen all of the time. So much so, that the United Nations declared the border between Texas, or the United States and Mexico, to be the worst death border and most dangerous border in the entire world. But on top of things like that, we know of about 42 terrorists who have been apprehended coming across the border.”

The Texas governor then claimed the elimination of Title 42 and Trump’s “Remain In Mexico” policy will effectively allow the border to be flooded with more illegal immigrants.

“Let me just give you the numbers that were provided by the Biden Administration. They predicted that after the elimination of these policies, we should have about 18,000 people coming across the border illegally per day. Extrapolate that for an annual basis, and you’re going to have more than six million people coming across the border a year. To put this in context, the largest city in the state of Texas is Houston. We will have about one Houston coming across the border in Texas every year.”

Abbott wrapped up this section of the interview by expressing a commonly held sentiment amongst many voters saying, “This is outrageous, and there’s a reason why Americans are so angry about the Biden Administration’s approach to the Border.”

Our southern border is worth protecting. It deserves more attention than Kamala Harris is willing to give it. What’s happening to these border states is nothing short of a catastrophe.
