In an exclusive interview, presumptive GOP nominee and 45th President Donald Trump explained that the parents of Laken Riley, the young nursing student allegedly killed by an illegal alien last month, "lost an angel" and that President Joe Biden has shown "no compassion" to the family after getting their late daughter's name wrong during the State of the Union address.
Riley, who was described by those who knew her as a "shining light," was found dead on the University of Georgia's campus in late February. One of the young woman's friends reported her missing after she did not come back from a jog near the school's intramural fields. Authorities eventually found Riley without a pulse. They attempted CPR but were unable to resuscitate her. The young nursing student had "visible injuries" that led to the authorities suspecting foul play and launching an investigation, eventually settling on 26-year-old Jose Antonio Ibarra as the main suspect. It was later revealed that Riley was beaten to death with an object that led to "seriously disfiguring her body … by disfiguring her skull." Following the beating, Ibarra then dragged her body to a secluded area.
During a press conference, UGA Police Chief Jeffrey L. Clark explained that Ibarra is not a citizen of the United States and that he is from Venezuela. He has been charged with malice murder, felony murder, aggravated battery, aggravated assault, false imprisonment, kidnapping, hindering a 911 call, and concealing the death of another, as previously reported by the DC Enquirer. Authorities in New York previously had custody of Ibarra for endangering a minor. Still, the NYPD released him onto the streets before Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) could issue a detainer.
"Her parents are great people. They lost an angel," Trump said about the brutal murder. "They lost a person they loved more than anybody else. She was the top in her class and everything she ever did. She wanted to be a nurse and maybe would have ended up being a doctor. Her friends were there too. They said, 'We were not as good as her.' She was like this perfect person and a good person. Her parents are very good people. I spent time with them. I met with her sister, who's beautiful also, inside and out. These are people that can't believe what happened."
Trump went on to slam Biden for his lack of compassion shown to the family after calling her "Lincoln Riley" during his State of the Union address and then apologizing later on for calling the man who killed her an "illegal."
"They've been shown no compassion from Biden other than he called out the name with the wrong name. He only called it out because Marjorie Taylor Greene shamed him. It's like he picked up the pin to try to read it, but he didn't read it very well. These are people who can't believe what happened to them and can't believe what he's doing. They'll never be the same," the presumptive Republican nominee explained exclusively to Breitbart. "Her parents are great people, and they'll never be the same."
The White House's only message on the brutal murder came in the form of a brief statement. " We would like to extend our deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of Laken Hope Riley," a White House spokesperson said. "People should be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law if they are found to be guilty. Given this is an active case, we would have to refer you to state law enforcement and ICE."
It is clear where both the priorities of the Republican nominee and the Democratic nominee lay. Donald Trump is putting Americans first and personally met with the loved ones of Laken Riley following her unfortunate killing, while President Biden is more occupied with trying to blame the GOP for the border crisis and apologizing to her murderer than actually meeting with the family. America deserves better than Biden.
