California Homeowner Defending Children Caught In Shootout With Alleged Home Invader

On Saturday, an armed Los Angeles homeowner exercised their Second Amendment right when an alleged home invader entered their home in the early morning hours. The shooting took place approximately around 5:00 a.m. in the Granada Hills suburb of the City of Angeles. At the time of the shooting, the homeowner's family was present, including his grandmother and child.

Police responded to the home located at the 11400 block of Swinton Avenue, near Rinaldi Avenue, with reports of shots fired after three home invaders entered the armed man's residence. One of the alleged robbers pointed a gun at the homeowner, which prompted him to pull his handgun and open fire. According to Fox 11, the homeowner fired multiple rounds at the intruders, eventually striking and killing one of them.

Police later indicated that a blood trail leading out of the home indicated that one of the other suspected intruders could have been injured in the shooting. The intruders fled on foot from the scene, abandoning their black BMW sedan at the home. The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner identified the deceased man as 20-year-old Abednego Adre from Inglewood, California.
