On Tuesday, Goya Foods, whose leadership has been known to be conservative, donated hundreds of ready-t0-serve meals to the people of East Palestine, Ohio after a train derailed in the small town on February 3rd leading to toxic chemicals seeping into the water and air.
“In response to the recent [Ohio] train derailment, we are sending ready-to-serve Goya food/beverages to the people of [East Palestine] & surrounding areas. The impact of this disaster is devastating for both the [community] & [environment],” the company announced on Twitter along with a picture of their workers unloading food from a semi truck. “It is not a forgotten community 2 [Goya Gives].”

As the Biden administration and Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg developed a lackluster response to the crisis in the northeastern Ohio township, companies like Goya and conservative politicians from across the country traveled to East Palestine to voice their support and donate supplies.
As previously reported by the DC Enquirer, 45th President, and 2024 presidential contender Donald Trump donated thousands of pounds of supplies to the people of East Palestine on his visit there on Wednesday.
While there, Trump met with residents, bought food for first responders, and unloaded the massive donation he brought for residents.

After landing in Trump Force One, the former president spoke at the local fire department, showering the response from law enforcement and emergency services with praise, as previously reported by the DC Enquirer. He also lauded the “strength and courage” of the residents telling them “You are not forgotten.”
“We stand with you,” Trump told the gathered crowd, “we pray for you, and we’ll stay with you in your fight to help answer and [get] accountability that you deserve.”
When asked if he had a message for Biden, Trump said simply: “Get over here.”

As America’s leaders and influential companies continue to supply East Palestine, they are showing the leadership that is deeply needed in Washington. As Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg tours the town today after being forced by President Trump to make an appearance, he should consider his role in the disaster and consider resigning from his position to let someone competent take the reins.
