America First Candidate Brandon Gill Decisively Wins Texas Primary, Defeats Swamp Super PAC - 'MAGA Is Ascendant'

On Tuesday, America First candidate Brandon Gill decisively won the Republican primary for Texas' 26th Congressional District after months of campaigning that resulted in strong support from the grassroots and prominent conservatives nationwide. Gill, who was endorsed by 45th President Donald Trump, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL), the House Freedom Caucus, and many others, defeated his ten other opponents handily, securing enough support to avoid a runoff.

With all votes counted, Gill secured the GOP nomination for TX-26 with 58.4 percent support compared to Scott Armey's 14.5 percent, Southlake Mayor John Huffman's 10.0 percent, and former Tony Gonzales (R-TX) Chief of Staff Luisa Del Rosal's 4.6 percent. The remaining candidates received a combined 12.4 percent support, with none getting over four percent backing. Gill is expected to win the November election by double digits, given retiring Congressman Michael Burgess' (R-TX) victory by 38 points against his Democrat opponent in the 2022 midterms.

In response to the victory, Gill, flanked by his wife, young daughter, and immediate family, thanked those who supported him during the campaign and pledged to uphold America First values while in Congress in a speech to supporters on Tuesday evening. "Conservatives of [TX-26] demand change in Washington. They want a secure border, an end to out of control spending, and our America First values represented," Gill wrote on X. "I want to thank them for entrusting me with their vote."

"This campaign wasn't about me, it was about the people of our great district who want to send a true conservative to Congress that will fight alongside President Trump," he continued. "To the swamp super PACs whose deceptive lies have been rejected by the voters in Texas' 26th district—Your anti-Trump hate has no place here. Last night was a historic victory for the 26th District, for President Donald Trump, Senator Ted Cruz, and all who endorsed our campaign. Thank you and I promise the 26th district that I will never back down from our conservative values and look forward to fighting the left on behalf of North Texas from Congress next January!"

The young family man, who fought off nearly $2 million in negative ads from a Super PAC, was congratulated by a number of prominent conservatives, including Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL), who wrote, "So proud of [Brandon Gill] for his overwhelming victory in Texas tonight. Swamp monsters spent seven figures to keep this America First patriot out of Congress. They failed. We won. MAGA is ascendant."

"BIG congratulations to Brandon Gill for winning the GOP primary for Texas' 26th Congressional District," Rep. Troy Nehls (R-TX), one of the first to endorse Gill's run, wrote. "Brandon is a friend and someone I trust to continue the MAGA movement in North Texas. He is an America First Patriot. Congratulations."

Gill, who resides in Flower Mound, Texas, is a native-born Texan who attended Dartmouth University and worked on Wall Street for several years before founding the DC Enquirer and returning to the Lone Star State.
