'Americans Aren't Going To Be Fooled': Gov. Greg Abbott SLAMS Kamala Harris For Border Visit After Years Of Failing Policies

On Friday, Vice President Kamala Harris is visiting the US-Mexico border in Douglas, Arizona, to outline her vision for the southern border after three and a half years of the Biden-Harris administration's failure to prevent millions of illegal immigrants from crossing into the United States. In response to the visit, Gov. Greg Abbott (R-TX), a Republican leader who has used state resources to attempt to stem the flow of illegal immigration into his state, laid out how Harris would be a disaster for the nation if elected president.

"Americans aren't going to be fooled by this," Abbott explained to Breitbart. "This did not happen four years ago under President Trump. All they (Biden-Harris) had to do was to keep in place the policies that Trump put into place that led to a secure border. But instead, they eliminated all those policies."

"But worse than that, and this is what Americans know," the governor continued, "what Kamala Harris has done in the past was, say on videotape, exactly what her position was, and that is, she was against criminalizing crossing the border illegally. She was against using ICE to enforce violations of the immigration laws. She was in favor of giving free health care to people coming into the country illegally. She creates magnets to make it impossible to enforce illegal immigration. As bad as illegal immigration has been under Joe Biden, Kamala Harris' policies are even worse than Joe Biden's policies. And if she's elected president, it will destroy our country."

After being selected to be the administration's "border czar" responsible for tackling the causes of immigration in Central America, Kamala Harris has overseen the influx of millions of illegal immigrants into the country under her and President Biden's policies. Upon taking office, the Biden-Harris administration reversed several Trump-era immigration policies that stemmed the tide of migrants, such as the "Remain in Mexico" policy. Despite this track record of failure, Harris is expected to lay out her vision for border security during an event in Arizona on Friday.

"The American people deserve a president who cares more about border security than playing political games," Harris is expected to say, according to ABC News. "American sovereignty requires setting rules at the border and enforcing them." During her trip, Harris will meet with Border Patrol agents to tout recent pay raises that the administration has given to the men and women who guard the border.
