'An Unprecedented Scandal': Trump Demands CBS News Release Full Transcript Of Kamala Harris' '60 Minutes' Interview After Deceptive Editing Exposed

Following Vice President Kamala Harris' interview with "60 Minutes" earlier this week, the Trump campaign has demanded that CBS News release the full transcript of the interview after it was revealed that the network deceptively edited one of her answers on the topic of Israel. The network has received considerable pushback for the move, given it shows a clear bias on behalf of the Democratic presidential candidate as they attempt to make her answer come across better for the millions of Americans who tuned in.

The outrage over the "60 Minutes" interview comes after the network aired a preview clip online before the interview aired of Harris' answer on American influence over Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. However, when the interview hit Americans'Americans screens nationwide, the answer was edited differently and excluded the vice president's remarks seen in the preview clip.

"On Sunday, 60 Minutes teased Kamala's highly-anticipated sit-down interview with one of her worst word salads to date, which received significant criticism on social media," Trump campaign National Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said in a statement. "During the full interview on Monday evening, the word salad was deceptively edited to lessen Kamala's idiotic response. Why did 60 Minutes choose not to air Kamala's full word salad, and what else did they choose not to air? The American people deserve the full, unedited transcript from Kamala's sit-down interview. We call upon 60 Minutes and CBS to release it. What do they, and Kamala, have to hide?"

President Trump and Sen. JD Vance (R-OH) also highlighted the deceptive editing, with Trump calling for CBS to have their license taken away from "election interference." "A giant Fake News Scam by CBS & 60 Minutes. Her REAL ANSWER WAS CRAZY, OR DUMB, so they actually REPLACED it with another answer in order to save her or, at least, make her look better," the Republican presidential candidate wrote on Truth Social. "A FAKE NEWS SCAM, which is totally illegal. TAKE AWAY THE CBS LICENSE. Election Interference. She is a Moron, and the Fake News Media wants to hide that fact. An UNPRECEDENTED SCANDAL!!! The Dems got them to do this and should be forced to concede the Election? WOW!"

The Republican vice presidential candidate shared a similar sentiment, demanding that the network release the complete, unedited interview between Bill Whitaker and Kamala Harris. "If 60 Minutes had an ounce of integrity, they would release the full, unedited interview," Vance wrote. "The person who can't answer basic questions about national security wants to be our next president. Show us what she actually said, in full."

In response to the controversy, the Harris campaign told Variety, "We do not control CBS's production decisions and refer questions to CBS."
