Anti-Israel Protesters Arrested After Disrupting Thanksgiving Celebration, Again

At least 25 anti-Israel protesters were arrested Thursday after blocking the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade for the second year in a row.

The protesters held Palestinian flags and a banner that read “don’t celebrate genocide” while sitting in the street in front of the parade in New York City interlocking arms and chanting “Free, free Palestine,” according to ABC News. The exact charges and identities of the protesters have not yet been released.

The parade was delayed for several minutes before police removed the demonstrators from the road, ABC reported. Spectators apparently booed the demonstration and cheered as police cleared the blockade.

The parade was similarly disrupted in 2023 after around 30 protesters jumped the barricade and glued themselves to the street.

Anti-Israel demonstrations have disrupted a multitude of events across the nation ever since Hamas’ deadly Oct. 7, 2023 attack on Israel. Incidents have occurred at Democratic campaign events and on numerous university campuses, leading to hundreds of arrests.

Several anti-Israel groups were expected to interrupt holiday celebrations in a “Global Escalation” aimed at disrupting business as usual, preventing Black Friday shopping and blocking holiday travel.
