Barack Obama, Bill Clinton Join Biden For $25 Million Fundraiser As Trump Visits With Family Of Slain NYPD Officer

On Thursday, former Presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama will join President Joe Biden for a massive fundraising event in New York City that has reportedly raised $25 million for the incumbent president's reelection campaign against his Republican challenger. Trump, on the other hand, will be spending the day with the men and women in blue for the wake of slain NYPD officer Jonathan Diller. The contrast between the two candidates couldn't be clearer.

Biden, who has been struggling to compete with Trump in the polls across the various swing states, has ramped up his campaigning schedule in recent weeks following his State of the Union address. The 81-year-old Democrat has made multiple visits to the 2024 battleground states to boost enthusiasm for his campaign amongst voters. The New York fundraiser, which has pricey $100,000, $250,000, and $500,000 tickets, is supposed to be the highlight of that effort to reinvigorate voters via a significant show of support from the Democratic establishment.

The event, which is being hosted at Radio City Music Hall, will feature a panel discussion with the three presidents hosted by late-night host Stephen Colbert, as well as performances by Queen Latifah, Lizzo, Ben Platt, Cynthia Erivo, and Lea Michele. According to The AP, there will also be an after-party event hosted by First Lady Jill Biden and DJ D-Nice. The fundraiser, which will have around 3,000 donors in attendance, is expected to sell out and be a turning point in the campaign.

In contrast to President Biden's high-profile fundraiser, Trump is spending the day with the hard-working officers of the NYPD to attend the wake of NYPD Officer Jonathan Diller in Long Island. Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung laid out the contrast, writing on X, "President Trump will be honoring the legacy of Officer Diller and paying respects to his family, friends, and the NYPD. Meanwhile, the Three Stooges—Biden, Obama, and Clinton—will be at a glitzy fundraiser in the city with their elitist, out-of-touch celebrity benefactors."

As previously reported by the DC Enquirer, Officer Diller and his partner were carrying out a traffic stop on two suspects for parking illegally at a bus stop. One of the suspects, identified as 34-year-old Guy Rivera, was illegally in possession of a firearm and decided he didn't want to return to prison, so he opened fire and hit Diller beneath his protective vest. The hit officer's partner opened fire on the suspect, striking him in the back. Once Rivera was apprehended, officers quickly rushed Diller to Jamaica Hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries. The suspect, who has had 21 prior arrests, was also taken to Jamaica Hospital and is in stable condition.

The contrast between Trump and Biden couldn't be more apparent. While Biden spends the day with the wealthy elite of New York City, Trump will be honoring the life and service of a fallen police officer. The message to hard-working Americans across the country is clear: Trump puts the American people first, while Biden chooses the powerful elites.
