Biden DOD Claims $6.2 Billion 'Accounting Error' Allows More Aid For Ukraine

Pentagon spokeswoman Sabrina Singh told reporters during a Tuesday press conference that not only had the Pentagon badly erred in the valuation of its equipment, a feat that would find private businesses in court for fraud, but that this miscalculation to the tune of $6.2 billion over the past two years allows for the Biden Dept. of Defense to funnel even more of America's warfighting potential into Ukraine.

According to the Associated Press, Singh explained that a "detailed review of the accounting error" discovered that the U.S. Military calculated replacement costs instead of utilizing the "book value of equipment" that was rerouted from military stocks and shipped to Ukraine. The spokeswoman said the breathtaking accounting errors boiled down to $3.6 billion in the current fiscal year and $2.6 billion in the 2022 fiscal year.

Before  the shock of the astonishing dollar value of the mistake wore off, Singh dropped the proverbial humorless punchline,

“It’s just going to go back into the pot of money that we have allocated” for the future Pentagon stock drawdowns,”

In less deliberately vague terms: the error allows the Pentagon to send even more war material to Ukraine without having to seek additional authorization from Congress. As reported by the AP, Congress approved four rounds of military aid to Ukraine totaling approximately $113 billion. The most recent batch was in December and added up to approximately $45 billion.

As ABC News explained, "As a result, the department now has additional money in its coffers to use to support Ukraine as it pursues its counteroffensive against Russia. And it come as the fiscal year is wrapping up and congressional funding was beginning to dwindle."

The announcement has sparked outrage among Republican lawmakers with Congressman Ralph Norman of South Carolina tweeted, "You simply cannot make a $6.2 billion “accounting error”!! Honestly, does the Biden Administration think we’ll believe they miraculously found BILLIONS of YOUR tax dollars to continue funneling money towards an endless war?"

Likewise, Senator Josh Hawley of Missouri observed in his own tweet, "$6.2 BILLION dollar error! And yet the Senate won’t vote for an independent watchdog for Ukraine funding. Almost like Senators don’t want to know …"

Even Twitter CEO Elon Musk, someone vastly familiar with quibbling over sums in the billions commented, "How did we accidentally send $6.2billion to Ukraine? Let me repeat, our government lost track of $6.2 BILLION! Asking for a friend."

Congressman Eli Crane of Arizona added, "How incompetent is the federal government? They foolishly, but purposefully, sent $100+ billion to Ukraine. Now, they’ve accidentally sent an extra $6.2 billion because of an 'accounting error.' Corrupt AND stupid."

Conservative commentator and  Executive Producer of 'The Benny Show' podcast Alex Lorusso asked the question most Americans are wondering: "Can I make an accounting error when I do my taxes that gives me $6.2 billion?"
