Biden Family Turns On Top Advisors During Camp David Meeting Following Debate - 'The Last Desperate Act'

During a Sunday gathering of the First Family at Camp David, First Lady Jill Biden, the president's son Hunter Biden, and other members of Biden's family refused to acknowledge that Biden's disastrous debate performance on Thursday was caused by him and instead focused on shifting blame to the staffers and close advisors who prepared the 81-year-old Democrat for the showdown with 45th President Donald Trump.

The Biden family was particularly concerned about some of Biden's top aides, including the president's senior advisor Anita Dunn, Bob Bauer, the president's attorney who played Trump during the week-long debate practice, and the former White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain. The Biden family reportedly took issue with how Biden's aides prepared the president, particularly how he was over-worked and not well-rested for the debate, the president's inability to pivot and attack Trump's record, and the lack of emphasis on Biden's vision for a second term.

According to POLITICO, it is unclear whether President Biden, who has often refused to fire subordinates who have made grave errors, will take his family's advice and begin to move the campaign in a different direction by letting go of some of his top advisors, some of whom have been with Biden since the 1980s. Sources close to the First Family told the outlet that First Lady Jill Biden and Hunter Biden were the loudest voices demanding that the president stay in the race despite his abysmal performance on Thursday.

While the Biden family has refused to acknowledge reality and has instead pushed the family patriarch to continue his re-election campaign, some in the media pointed out the implication of the Biden family attempting to blame staff rather than looking in the mirror. "Blaming staff isn't a strategy," NBC host Chuck Todd wrote on X. "But blaming staff is among the last desperate acts before accepting reality."

However, others, like MSNBC host Mika Brezinski, have backed the Biden family's plans to change the campaign. "Do there need to be changes? Yes. Managing him, management. To his schedule. Changes maybe even to those around him," she said on "Morning Joe" on Monday morning. I'll also say that America needs an explanation from Joe Biden and reassurance that the other night was a one-time event and not part of a larger problem."

President Biden's debate performance on Thursday was a wakeup call for Democrats who have ignored the tell-tale signs of a deteriorating president for the past three years. The American public has known that President Biden isn't up for the job for another four years, but the First Family is adamant about staying in the White House and sees any attempt at forcing Biden out of the race as a threat.
