Biden's Approval Rating PLUMMETS To Record Low

On Monday, a new poll released by Monmouth University indicated that President Joe Biden is suffering the lowest approval rating of his presidency as independent and Democrat voters increasingly turn on him amid the various crises facing the country, including a flailing economy, an open southern border, and the ongoing war in Gaza.

According to the survey, President Biden has a record-low approval for his presidency at only 34 percent, while 61 percent disapprove of his job performance as president. Biden's numbers have taken a nosedive in recent months after the conflict in Gaza erupted between Hamas and Israel. As progressives continue to call for a ceasefire, Biden has stood steadfast in supporting Israel, which is what has likely led to the deterioration in his poll numbers.

Biden's poll numbers first shifted to net disapproval after the withdrawal from Afghanistan in September 2021, and after that point, his numbers reached a high of 44 percent in July 2023. This slight boost, however, was short-lived as the percentage of Americans who approved of his job performance shifted down to 38 percent in September and a devastating 34 percent in December.

Biden's most notable failures that led to his record-low approval are generated from immigration (26 percent approve, 69 percent disapprove), inflation (28 percent approve, 68 percent disapprove), climate change (38 percent approve, 54 percent disapprove), jobs (42 percent approve, 53 percent disapprove), and infrastructure (42 percent approve, 52 percent disapprove). Amongst Democrats, the biggest hurdle for Biden is on immigration, with 47 percent disapproving, and on inflation, with 35 percent disapproving of his performance at tackling the issue.

"The Biden administration keeps touting their infrastructure investments and a host of positive economic indicators. Those data points may be factual, but most Americans are still smarting from higher prices caused by post-pandemic inflation. This seems to be what's driving public opinion," Director of Monmouth University Polling Institute Patrick Murray explained. "There is political danger in pushing a message that basically tells people their take on their own situation is wrong."

Biden's political messaging is having a disastrous impact on his 2024 chances as well. According to the Real Clear Politics polling average, Biden is trailing leading Republican presidential candidate and 45th President Donald Trump by over three points, Biden's 43.7 percent to Trump's 47.2 percent. As President Biden continues to burden the country with his leadership, the American people are realizing the disastrous effects of having an 81-year-old Democrat lead the country.
