Biden's Transgender Ex-Officio Admiral Claims 'Gender Affirming Care' For Children Is 'Medically Neccessary'

In defiance of a majority of the international medical field and sixty-eight percent of Americans polled, President Joe Biden's transgendered US Assistant Secretary of Health Dr. Rachel Levine told an event at the Department of Education that so-called "gender-affirming care," is "medically necessary, safe and effective for transgender and non-binary youth."

According to The Post Millennial, the ex-officio four-star Admiral of the Public Health Service told educators that a 'trans identity' is a child's "superpower," at the event for educators put on by Biden's Dept. of Education.

Evidently, the comic books Levine read must've involved the off-label prescription of untested hormonal treatment and unnecessary surgical mutilation.

Post Millennial reported that Levine was quoting White House Press Secretary Karinne Jean-Pierre when he said, "your identity is not your weakness, it is your superpower," adding "we all have superpowers, we're superheroes."

Levine told the gathered educators and politicians that, "based upon decades of research and medical evidence and analysis, and many respected medical organizations from many diverse fields, agree that gender-affirming care is medically necessary, safe and effective for transgender and non-binary youth."

The event Levine spoke at was alarmingly titled, "Inclusive and Nondiscriminatory School Environments for LGBTQI+ Students," and was slated to be an "opportunity to learn about Federal resources and actionable, ready-to-use strategies for creating inclusive educational environments." Across the country, teachers and administrators were reportedly encouraged to watch and "share concrete and practical tips."

According to The Hill, a Washington Post-KFF poll as recently as May found that not only do fifty-seven percent of Americans believe gender is biologically determined at birth, but sixty-eight percent oppose puberty-blocking medication and fifty-eight percent oppose hormonal treatments for children.
Dr. Levine further suggested that the model of "affirmative care," or reinforcing a child's imagined gender "is literally suicide prevention care," in spite of a 2011 study, among others, showing that quite to the contrary.

The 2011 study found,

"Persons with transsexualism, after sex reassignment, have considerably higher risks for mortality, suicidal behaviour, and psychiatric morbidity than the general population." It was based upon this study and others like it that several European countries including Sweden, and France, forbade childhood "gender-affirming" care.

As Thomas Stevenson writing for the Post Millennial observed,

"The Tavistock clinic, the world's largest pediatric gender clinic in the UK, and many countries in Europe, are also putting a stop to gender care for youth. The US is now an outlier in pushing sex changes for minors."

Based upon his beliefs though Levine claimed that anyone opposing the "LGBTQI+ community are driven by an agenda that has nothing to do with... science [and] nothing to do with medical care."

However, a recent systematic review of multiple studies cited by the outlet also concluded there is "sparse and of very low quality" evidence that the so-called "affirmation model" of "gender-affirming care" is beneficial to children.

Therefore, it appears that Dr. Levine has inadvertently given us a good description of the trans-agenda from the left as "driven by an agenda that has nothing to do with... science [and] nothing to do with medical care."
