Bill Burr: 'You Idiot Liberals' Made Donald Trump A Martyr

On Tuesday evening, comedian Bill Burr joined Jimmy Kimmel to discuss the growing popularity of leading Republican presidential candidate and 45th President Donald Trump and his return to the White House will be "great for comedy." Making matters even worse for the anti-Trump talk show host, Burr mocked him and other liberals for being idiots for indicting him.

"Like, you want to see a great case thing on, like, narcissism, liberals are so f*cking stupid the way that they handle Trump," Burr said. "You should shut up. He's a narcissist. Neutral energy. You know what I think it was? I think he was a one-hit wonder, right? He wrote The Twist, and that was it. He was on the casino circuit, and you idiot liberals let wrote him Twist again when you indicted him, and now he's a martyr, and he's coming back, Jimmy."

"He's coming back; it's going to be great for comedy," the comedian explained, as reported by NewsBusters. "He's coming back. I can't believe, like, these are honestly going to be our two choices because I really try to with each thing be, like, figure out who I'm going - but I mean it's got to be - I want somebody in their 40s. Somebody that's going to have to live with their decisions. I don't want, like, you know—with any luck, with any luck, they'll both die of natural causes before the election, and maybe you can get somebody that still has something to live for."

Burr's assertion is correct. Since Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg first indicted Trump, his poll numbers have continued to climb. When Trump was first indicted in April 2023, his poll numbers hovered around 50 percent among the GOP, and today, his support amongst the party has only grown to over 60 percent nationally. Trump's numbers have even grown against Biden since he was first made a "martyr," as Burr describes. When Bragg opened Pandora's box on April 6, 2023, Trump led Biden in the Real Clear Politics polling average by 1.2 points. Since then, the 45th president's lead has only grown, beating Biden by 2.1 percent amongst voters nationally.

Democrats believed that lawfare would be their path to eliminate Trump from the national conversation by politically persecuting him. However, that strategy has completely backfired and made Trump even more of a threat in 2024.
