At the conclusion of his show on Sunday, Todd explained that he would be leaving NBC at the end of the summer.
"While today is not my final show, this will be my final summer here at Meet the Press," Todd said. "I am really proud of what this team and I have built over the last decade."
The NBC host went on to explain that 'Meet the Press' has been able to expand to multiple podcasts and other programming over the years that he has overseen the show.
To replace Todd is NBC host Kristen Welker who wrote on Sunday, "[Chuck Todd] has been a mentor and friend since my first day at [NBC News]. I’ve learned so much from sitting with him at the anchor desk and simply experiencing his passion for politics. I'm humbled and grateful to take the baton and continue to build on the legacy of [Meet the Press]."Today we close our show with an announcement from @chucktodd:

Todd joins a host of other long time news hosts who have decided to leave their networks in recent months. In April, former Fox News host Tucker Carlson was ousted from the network and Dan Bongino did not renew his contract with the Fox Corporation.
This is a developing story and will be updated accordingly.
