On Monday, Don Lemon announced that he has been fired from CNN after 17 years with the network.
“I was informed this morning by my agent that I have been terminated by CNN,” Lemon wrote on Twitter.
“I am stunned. After 17 years at CNN I would have thought that someone in management would have had the decency to tell me directly,” the CNN host wrote.
“At no time was I ever given any indication that I would not be able to continue to do the work I have loved at the network,” he continued. “It is clear that there are some larger issues at play.”
“With that said, I want to thank my colleagues and the many teams I have worked with for an incredible run,” he said, adding, “They are the most talented journalists in the business, and I wish them all the best.”

FOX NEWS SEES STOCK CRASH AFTER TUCKER CARLSON DEPARTURE
The CNN host has repeatedly faced scandal in recent months after allegations surfaced that he mistreated female colleagues and made comments regarding former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley’s fitness to run for president.
Lemon’s firing comes at the same time that Fox News parted ways with Tucker Carlson. The media landscape has been shattered with the departure of these two hosts from their respective networks. Lemon’s firing, however, is a welcomed sight for a network that has attempted to moderate itself in recent years.
This is a developing story and will be updated accordingly.
