BREAKING: Former Democrat Presidential Contender Announces Run Against Joe Biden

On Saturday, former 2020 Democrat presidential contender Marianne Williamson announced her run for the Democrat nomination in Washington, D.C., marking the first challenger to President Biden from within his own party.

Throughout her announcement speech, Williamson turned to history focusing heavily on abolitionism, suffragism, and segregation. She then stated that there are multiple institutions that are threatening the rights of Americans and that there are systemic oppressions that lead to income inequality.

“The opponent is not a specific situation or circumstance, the opponent is an economic mindset,” Williamson said, adding that America’s current economy is a “sociopathic economic system.”

“The status quo will not disrupt itself. That’s our job.” the former 2020 candidate said.

“Government by the people, for the people is perishing now. This government is now by the corporations and for the corporations,” she continued, asking why so many Americans suffer from a lack of healthcare and access.

She then went on to call for a wish list of Democrat agenda items including a ‘living wage,’ universal health care, free higher education, and other policy items.

She explained that there needs to be a systemic change in the economy in order to fix the ‘intrinsically corrupt’ economic system.

When speaking about how most politicians are unwilling to fix the problems facing the country, she responded, “Ladies and gentlemen let me in there, I will [fix it]”

“The people who are in power either do not have the solutions,” she said. “Let the people take power, we will handle it.”

She then stated that she is not naïve about the challenges ahead when running against President Biden. She said that Biden and other entrenched Democrats got Americans into the problems that are currently inflicting the country. “A real grown-up does not knowingly allow a child to go hungry.”

“So I am here today again with my deep thanks to those who came here, I have a request to make. I as of today am a candidate for the office of the President of the United States,” Williamson announced, adding that America faces a “neo-fascist threat.”

With Williamson’s announcement against President Biden, it marks the first instance where Biden is facing opposition from his own side.
