BREAKING: Georgia Grand Jury Hands Down 10 Indictments In Trump Election Case

On Monday evening, the Georgia grand jury handed down an indictment likely of leading Republican presidential candidate and 45th President Donald Trump in a case led by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis.

According to reports, the Georgia grand jury handed down 10 indictments in the Trump election interference probe.

As previously reported by the DC Enquirer, initial reports earlier in the day began to surface from Reuters after a reporter announced via X, formerly Twitter, that President Trump had been indicted by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis. However, these initial reports were later revealed to be false.

Reuters cleared up the confusion, explaining that a document containing the charges had been briefly posted to the court's website despite the fact that the grand jury had yet to finish meeting. However, given that the grand jury has now handed down an indictment, it is likely that the document that was leaked will contain similar charges.

The document in question was dated August 14th and names Trump along with various charges being brought against him. Those charges include "Violation Of The Georgia Rico (Racketeer Influenced And Corrupt Organizations) Act," "Solicitation Of Violation Of Oath By Public Officer," "Conspiracy To Commit False Statements and Writings" and "Conspiracy To Commit Forgery in the First Degree," as well as a number of other charges.

In response to the leaked indictment, the Trump team issued a statement condemning the leak and saying that it wasn't just an "administrative mistake."

"The Fulton County District Attorney's Office has once again shown that they have no respect for the integrity of the grand jury process," attorneys Drew Findling and Jennifer Little wrote. "This was not a simple administrative mistake."

"A proposed indictment should only be in the hands of the District Attorney's Office, yet it somehow made its way to the clerk's office and was assigned a case number and a judge before the grand jury even deliberated," the lawyers continued.

"This is emblematic of the pervasive and glaring constitutional violations which have plagued this case from its very inception," the two Trump attorneys concluded.

This is a developing story and will be updated accordingly.

Erratum: Dear editor: In first sentence, please invert the words "likely" and "of." Thank you.

Roger

On further reflection, better to delete the word "likely" altogether. He is the leading Republican candidate, according to all polls.
