BREAKING: Jim Jordan Gets GREAT News Thanks To The Grassroots Ahead Of Speaker Vote

On Monday morning, a number of moderate Republicans decided to join with the majority of the Republican conference and side with Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) for speaker of the House, thus putting to bed the potential for a bipartisan speaker or for some House Republicans to side with Minority Leader Hakeem Jefferies (D-NY).

As previously reported by the DC Enquirer, Jim Jordan was the last man standing in the speakership battle after Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA) withdrew last week and Rep. Austin Scott (R-GA) failed to garner enough votes to dissuade other members of the caucus to go with a more moderate speaker.

These failed efforts by Republican moderates have culminated in multiple opponents of Jordan coming out in support of him after the Ohio Republican worked the phones over the weekend and was able to convince a number of the 20 or so GOP members who were standing against him. According to Axios, the number of those who still oppose Jordan is in the single digits.

"[Jim Jordan] and I have had two cordial, thoughtful, and productive conversations over the past two days," wrote Rep. Mike Rogers (R-AL). "We agreed on the need for Congress to pass a strong NDAA, appropriations to fund our government's vital functions, and other important legislation like the Farm Bill."

"As a result, I have decided to support Jim Jordan for Speaker of the House on the floor," he explained. "Since I was first elected to the House, I have always been a team player and supported what the majority of the Republican Conference agrees to. Together, our Republican majority will be stronger to fight Joe Biden’s reckless agenda for America."

"Let me be clear, I am not, and will not, work with Democrats as our Republican Conference comes together to elect a conservative Speaker of the House," wrote Rep. Ann Wagner (R-MI). "Too much is at stake to hand control of the House over to radical liberal Democrats, which is why we must elect a conservative as the next Speaker. Throughout my time in Congress, I have always been a team player and supported our Republican nominees out of Conference."

"Jim Jordan and I spoke at length again this morning, and he has allayed my concerns about keeping the government open with conservative funding, the need for strong border security, our need for consistent international support in times of war and unrest as well as the need for stronger protections against the scourge of human trafficking and child exploitation," she continued. "Jim Jordan is our conference nominee, and I will support his nomination for Speaker on the House floor."

"Keeping America safe is my top priority in Congress. After having a conversation with Jim Jordan about how we must get the House back on a path to achieve our national security and appropriations goals, I will be supporting him for Speaker on the floor. Let’s get to work," another former Jordan opponent Rep. Ken Calvert (R-CA) wrote Monday morning.

Thanks to an immense amount of pressure from conservative Americans across the country, moderate House Republicans are falling in line to back Jim Jordan for the speaker's gavel which could lead to one of the most conservative House speakers in Congress' history.
