On Tuesday morning, President Joe Biden announced he will be running for a second term in 2024 as the Democrat nominee for president.
“Every generation has a moment where they have had to stand up for democracy. To stand up for their fundamental freedoms. I believe this is ours,” President Biden wrote on Twitter. “That’s why I’m running for reelection as President of the United States. Join us. Let’s finish the job.”
The video began with images of January 6th and of Democrats protesting the overturning of Roe v. Wade.
“Freedom. Personal freedom is fundamental to who we are as Americans,” Biden began in the prerecorded video. “There’s nothing more important, nothing more sacred. That’s been the work of my first term, to fight for our democracy.”
“This shouldn’t be a red or blue issue,” Biden said. “To protect our rights. To make sure that everyone in this country is treated equally and that everyone is given a fair shot at making it.”
“But, you know. Around the country MAGA extremists are lining up to take on those bedrock freedoms,” the 80-year-old Democrat claimed with pictures of January 6th overlaid with images of 45th President Donald Trump and Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL).
“Cutting Social Security that you’ve paid for your entire life while cutting taxes for the very wealthy,” Biden argued despite the fact that President Trump has vowed to not cut social security.
“Dictating what healthcare decisions women can make. Banning books and telling people who they can love. All while making it more difficult for you to be able to vote,” Biden ludicrously claimed, once again pushing the idea that Republicans are restricting access to voting when in reality they are making voting more secure.

“When I ran for president four years ago, I said we are in a battle for the soul of America and we still are,” Biden said. “The question we are facing is whether, in the years ahead, we have more freedoms or less freedom. More rights or fewer. I know what I want the answer to be, and I think you do too.”
“This is not a time to be complacent,” the president continued. “That’s why I’m running for reelection because I know America. I know we are good and decent people. I know we’re still a country that believes in honesty and respect. And treating each other with dignity.”
“That we’re a nation where we give hate no safe harbor,” Biden remarked. “We believe that everyone is equal, that everyone should be given a fair shot to succeed in this country.”
“Every generation of Americans have faced a moment where they have to defend democracy,” Biden argued, adding, “Stand up for our personal freedom. Stand up for the right to vote and our civil rights. And this is our moment.”
“We the people, will not be silenced,” Biden said with images of him meeting with supporters. “So if you’re with me, go to joebiden.com. Let’s finish this job, I know we can because this is the United States of America. And there’s nothing, simply nothing we cannot do if we do it together.”
Biden is already the oldest president in American history and given the abysmal record that he is running on, including record inflation, a worsening economy, the withdrawal from Afghanistan, the Russo-Ukraine War, an open southern border, tyrannical Covid-19 policies, Hunter Biden’s corruption, and various other blunders, the road ahead for the 80-year-old will be a brutal campaign for a second term.
