BREAKING: Joe Biden Announces His Withdraw From The Presidential Race

On Sunday, President Joe Biden officially resigned from the presidential race following his disastrous debate performance, which led to an internal revolt within the Democratic Party. The president's unprecedented announcement represents the first time a presumptive presidential candidate has announced he would no longer seek office. President Biden announced that he would stay in office to complete his term.

"Over the past three and a half years, we have made great progress as a Nation," President Biden began. The 81-year-old Democrat then listed the various accomplishments of his administration, including expanding medical care for veterans, lowering the cost of prescription drugs, appointing the first African American woman to the Supreme Court, and passing climate legislation.

"I know none of this could have been done without you, the American people," the president continued. "Together, we overcame a once in a century pandemic and the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression. We've protected and preserved our Democracy. And we've revitalized and strengthened our alliances around the world."

"It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve as your President. And while it has been my intention to seek reelection, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term," Biden explained, adding that he will address the nation later this week on his decision.

President Biden then thanked Vice President Kamala Harris for her work alongside him at the White House and expressed his "heartfelt appreciation" to the American people. "I believe today what I always have: that there is nothing America can't do - when we do it together. We just have to remember we are the United States of America."
