BREAKING: Judge Issues MAJOR Ruling In Alvin Bragg's Case Against Trump

On Thursday, New York Justice Juan Merchan issued a new ruling in Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg's case against 45th President Donald Trump, who was in the courtroom at the time of the judge's decision. The judge denied the Trump legal team's efforts to throw out the charges in the case and Merchan scheduled the trial for March 25.

“At this point, I can inform you that we’re moving ahead to jury selection on March 25,” Merchan said. In response, Trump's lawyer, Todd Blanche, pushed back by arguing that the date would take up a considerable amount of the former president's time during primary season and that the action was blatant election interference.

On his route to the courthouse, Trump took to Truth Social to mirror his lawyer's argument, writing, "Heading to yet another Courthouse in Manhattan on a case that would have never been brought if I wasn’t running for Pres. The Biden DOJ has its top person here in charge. Case should have never been brought, there is no crime. They want it before Election - Could have been brought 3 years ago. They waited until Election Period. ELECTION INTERFERENCE!"

Alvin Bragg's case against Trump is arguably the weakest of the four indictments he is facing from Bragg, special counsel Jack Smith, and Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis. The Manhattan DA was the first to bring charges against Trump with 34 counts of falsifying business records, as reported by POLITICO.

Merchan, in a 30-page ruling, denied the Trump legal team's effort to dismiss the charges against their client by explaining that Trump's claims of the persecution being politically motivated "strain credulity."
